Principal ingredients: Glycyrrhiza glabra (Mulethi), Embelica officinalis (Amla), Avipattikar Churna, Laghu Sut Shekhar ras, Kam Dudha ras.Agnacid checks gastric secretion, is anti-flatulence, normalises alimentary tract secretions, heals stomach and intestinal ulcers and prevents anxiety and stress. Two major constituents of Glycyrrhiza glabra; glycyrrhizin and flavonoids have anti-inflammatory actions, lowering Hydrochloric acid release, easing Gastritis, GERD / Acid Reflux, Ulcers and help heal digestive tract cells. They are also potent antioxidants to protect liver cells. In vitro, the flavonoids have shown to kill Helicobacter pylori, the bacterium that causes most ulcers and stomach inflammation. Licorice is as effective at healing of stomach ulcers as the acid-blocking drug cimetidine and is also helpful in treating ulcers of the duodenum.
