Description

Historically based uterine tonic that promotes normal menstruation. The most important uterine tonic in Ayurvedic medicine is Ashoka (also known as Ashok, Karkeli, and Gandhapushpa), which has a wide range of traditional applications that maintain a healthy female reproductive system. It helps women have regular menstrual cycles and a healthy ovulatory cycle. Ashoka protects the endometrial tissue while calming the nerves and promoting uterine comfort.

It lessens painful periods, cleanses the blood, tones the ovaries and uterus, stimulates follicle development, is antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory, and stimulates the endometrial and ovarian tissues. Ashoka controls menstruation abnormalities and regularizes the time between periods. It is also helpful in treating leucorrhoea and uterine bleeding brought on by fibroids. Premenstrual syndrome, painful periods, widespread weakness, and weariness are all greatly alleviated by it.

Since time immemorial, Ashoka/ Saraca Indica has been a blessing for Indian ladies; hence, its literal name, "A-Shoka," signifies the one who removes all sorrows. A potent anti-Pitta, Kashaya is astringent in Rasa/Taste and cooling in potency.
