Description
Kutaj seed powder is a valuable herbal remedy of significant importance and diverse applications in maintaining health and well-being. In Ayurveda, kutaj seeds are also called by the name of “Indrayava” because of their barley shape. It is of great value in the treatment of diarrhea, dysentery, and IBS. It can be used externally to clean wounds, as well as for skin conditions.
Furthermore, it balances Kapha and Pitta. For evening rise of temperature and post-fever debility, kutaja seed powder is given along with cumin and fennel seed powders with hot water. The main chemical components of kutaj beeja (seed) are Concessine, Holarhenine, Kurchine, ergosterol, and others, thus making it a herb of choice to maintain gut health.
